New SOLARX results unveiled at SolarPACES 2024: Multi-tower solar field hybridizing concentrating photovoltaic cells and thermal receiver

The SolarPACES Conference 2024 took place from October 8-11, 2024 in Rome, Italy in the Auditorium della Tecnica. The 30th International Conference on Solar Power & Chemical Energy Systems provided an overview of the latest advances in the solar technologies.

Alicia Crespo from Universitat Rovira i Virgili, representing Universitat de Lleida, presented the latest SOLARX results at SolarPACES 2024. Her work went beyond the poster session, focusing on the hybridization of concentrating photovoltaic cells with thermal receivers in a multi-tower solar field.

Reflecting on her experience, Alicia noted that the event provided an excellent networking opportunity for exchanging ideas and connecting with experts from various fields:

“At SolarPACES, I had the chance to present the results of our study, ‘Multi-receiver solar field: hybridizing concentrating photovoltaic cells and thermal receivers,’ developed in collaboration with my colleagues in the SOLARX project.

The conference brought together global experts to share cutting-edge research, from solar fuel production to the latest innovations in solar thermal receivers. It offered me a platform to engage with other researchers and explore potential collaborations.”

Additionally, Emeric Désilet, from Université de Sherbrooke and representing CNRS, also showcased key studies on hydrogen reactor design during the event.
